Hot dipped galvanized wire theory
1.Surface preparation: First, prepare the surface of the steel wire that needs to be hot-dip
galvanized. This usually involves removing grease, oxides and other impurities from the
surface of the wire to ensure that the zinc can make adequate contact with the wire surface.
2.Cleaning treatment: After surface preparation, the steel wire will be immersed in acid cleaning
solution for cleaning treatment. The function of the cleaning solution is to further remove the dirt
and oxide on the surface, so that the surface of the steel wire is cleaner.
3.Preheating: The cleaned steel wire will be preheated through the preheating furnace. The
purpose of preheating is to raise the temperature of the wire so that a zinc layer can be quickly
formed when immersed in molten zinc.
4.Hot dip plating: The preheated steel wire is immersed in a galvanizing tank through a molten
zinc bath. The galvanized tank holds the molten zinc at high temperature, in which the steel wire
is soaked for a period of time. Under the action of molten zinc, the iron on the surface of the steel
wire reacts with zinc to form a strong zinc-iron alloy layer.
5.Cooling and curing: After hot dip plating, the steel wire is extracted from the galvanized tank
and cooled and cured in the air. In the cooling process, the molten zinc will gradually solidify to
form a zinc layer, and closely bond with the wire surface.
Through the above steps, a solid and dense zinc layer is formed on the surface of the steel wire,
which plays the role of anti-corrosion and protection of the steel wire. Hot dip galvanized wire
has a good combination of zinc layer and steel wire substrate, which can provide long-term
anti-corrosion properties.
